Having family in Massachusetts, I read the Greenfield Recorder article “Old Montague Masonic Lodge becomes dance studio” (Aug. 22). As a fifth generation Freemason myself, I am glad that the old Lodge Hall from the year 1872 will be repurposed as a dance studio. I am glad that at least the old desk and a few other Masonic artifacts remain. For centuries, Masonic Halls have been community hubs. I wish the best for this new enterprise being housed in the old building.
